A VISUAL FEAST OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD
AROUND HOTEL LONDRES EIFFEL
After returning from Versailles, we had the rest of the afternoon and evening to ourselves. So I took my camera and meandered up and down the streets around our hotel to see what I could see.
As I walked, I began to focus not on where I was going, but on what was right in front of me-- all those sights that we passed everyday coming or going to the Metro, or those places tucked away down an alley or around a corner. |
I looked up, I looked down, and I looked into windows and doors. No one seemed to mind;
in fact, when a portly, middle-aged butcher at a nearby charcuterie saw me taking pictures of his window display, he picked up a whole raw chicken, held it by its outstretched wings, and made it dance. We both smiled and laughed! How much fun was that? |

MOVIN' IN
So how do you deliver furniture to a fifth floor apartment?
I came upon this scene several blocks from our hotel, so I stopped and watched.
Whether or not the building had an elevator (lift), the chances are good it was too small
to accommodate a dining room set. Plus this method seemed so much more direct.
See for yourself.
